We are currently seeking a Network Security Engineer to join our Sydney Office. You will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and integration of the corporate WAN, LAN and server architecture. You will also be accountable for the implementation and administration of network security hardware and software, enforcing the network security policy and undertaking audits as required.
What will you be responsible for?
- Evaluate configurations and network designs and develop methods for proactive monitoring, trending and compliance with Information Security Policy (ISP).
- Leads efforts to improve the existing network architecture, monitoring tools and alarming capability and recommend changes to enhance quality of service and reduction in security vulnerabilities.
- Create, update and maintain system design for network topology, routing, WAN and LAN protocols.
- Develop, implement, and administer controls, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent and reliable network services, hardened configuration to minimize security vulnerabilities.
- Maintain and update production systems digital certificates as well as AS-Built Inventory of network configuration and fireball rules
- Maintenance of the Linux (RHEL) based platforms
- Perform problem isolation and resolution, using system software and diagnostics tools
- Master the usage of the many Soprano Monitoring, Diagnostic and Troubleshooting tools which include TCPDump, Wireshark, SQL. and Linux commands
What does it take?
- Experience in a professional Network Security engineering capacity
- Experience with IDS/IPS and Malware detection/protection applications
- Knowledge of Security Policies/Practices in NIST, SANS, ISO or other standards
- VmWare ESX/NSX compute and NFV environments
- Experience with vulnerability scanners and vulnerability management tools
- Experience with Firewalls configuration and policy experience with multiple platforms (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, ASA).
- Strong knowledge of network industry best practices and standards for network design and operational excellence.
- Comprehensive understanding of network architecture with a focus on Layer 3 networking
- Strong understanding of Linux scripting using various languages to enable network automation
- Intermediate to Advanced Linux administration experience (administration, configuration, etc.)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills demonstrating the ability to communicate to other departments effectively
- A 4-year degree in Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
