We are looking to recruit a Support & QA Engineer to work within a dynamic development environment. We are looking for a creative individual who appreciates the importance of attention to detail, with a strong analytical mind and a drive to assist with delivering excellence to our customers in regards to new product releases and support. Northbridge Secure Systems is focused on delivering flexible, easy to use solutions for secure business mobility. With a fast moving market, it is essential to deliver high quality project work under demanding deadlines. The candidate must have proven experience in the required skills outlined below.

This role would be best suited to a person with solid, recent technical support experience, who has recently started or is interested in pursuing a career in software testing.

Job Duties:

  • Evaluate product updates across web, iOS and Android platforms.
  • Assist with providing technical support to registered partners. Take ownership of support cases, ensuring all requests receive excellent, customer focused support.
  • Identify bugs, improvements, performance issues and user experience inconsistencies for all releases passed to QA.
  • Contribute to roadmap planning – i.e. proposing and assessing the merits and workload of proposed features and/or bug fixes;
  • Document the work you perform along with updating the project tracking system on a regular basis;
  • Provide creative input to all elements of the overall NetConnect programme.

As a guideline the following skills are essential:

  • Experience working in a customer support environment, with a strong customer focused attitude.
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to diagnose and act on issues impacting performance and quality of customer experience. A detailed and methodical approach to troubleshooting, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience or appreciation of software testing, software testing tools, identifying bugs, penetration testing, and communicating improvements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to explain complex information to support staff, developers, management and customers.
  • Understanding and experience with common, Windows based network infrastructure concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to work on multiple work streams, prioritise workloads and provide concise and regular updates on progress.
  • Have excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, punctual.
  • Ability to understand new concepts and contribute to creative discussions. Innovative and open minded approach to design and development.
  • Willingness to initiate and develop improved methodologies and processes.
  • Ability to produce clear, detailed documentation for both internal and external audiences. 

The following skills are desirable, but not essential:

  • Availability to provide afterhours support to end customers.
  • Experience with Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, Angular JS.
  • Experience with mobile app development (iOS and/or Android).
  • Good working knowledge of Linux operating systems using command line interface
