As the Platform lead you are accountable for ensuring that features and functions are designed developed, supported and maintained across the enterprise. Under your leadership, the team will implement products and services to high standards so that our customers will recognise them as exceptional.
You will have strong leadership skills for overseeing resources and partners across geographies. Most importantly you will be able to;
- Support the technology vision by ensuring we recognised by our customers as providing exceptional quality platforms & services
- Thinking strategically to focus on our customers, brand, partners, performance and security
- Execute under our principles promoting, build once use many, leverage of data, innovation via agility, products over projects whilst remaining effective and transparent
Skills and Experience
- Excellent understanding of current architectural design patterns, standards, technologies and techniques
- Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
- Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
- Very capable in problem solving with wide variety of technical and business stakeholders
- Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering
- Advice, Guidance & Consultancy - Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand
- Demonstrated Vendor Management
- Strong consulting skills to develop shared understanding across technical and business audiences
- Solution Architecture development including presentation and recommendation of options
- Desire to experiment with new ideas and rapidly build prototypes to remove technical roadblocks
- Experience with CI/CD (implementation experience highly regarded)
- 8+ years of experience in the IT Industry
- Strong automation experience (e.g: test driven development)
- Experience with multi-cloud environments (e.g.; AWS)
- Experience with PaaS/SaaS implementations - proficiency with Salesforce/Mule soft very highly regarded
Key accountabilities
- Manage Team Performance to optimise individual performance and development in line with the company performance management cycle
- Provide training and development opportunities via Individual Development Plans (IDPs) to maintain/improve skills, knowledge and capability
- Conduct performance appraisals
- Provide coaching and feedback to direct reports regularly and as required to support and develop skills, knowledge and capability
- Provide support to develop enterprise architecture roadmap to evaluate and select new tools and technologies to support the business
- Monitor and perform technology/platform reviews of concept briefs, business cases, implementation strategies, and solution specifications for technology related projects to ensure that the solutions are consistent with platform standards and guidelines
