The company
We are working with an established and growing Australian organisation that is also a much loved household name. They work with some leading brands to provide the community an invaluable service. Housing a large engineering team both on and offshore, they are in the process of a digital transformation.
The opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation who are embracing innovation and change. You will lead the software engineering teams through an Agile transformation, focusing on automation (QA, test and CI/CD), micro-services architecture, deployment to the cloud and the continuous improvement of their API layer.
The role
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the engineering team consisting of developers (Java, .Net, full stack JavaScript and more) & QA's, guiding them to successfully deliver their work
- Working with senior business stakeholders to embrace an Agile practice (highlighting the functions of the Customer, Product Owner and Team)
- The set up of a DevOps/DevSecOps culture and move the engineering teams to automated deployments
- Assisting in product development workshops and meetings
- Manage the development, support and performance of all applications and API's
- People management of your team for performance, appraisals and recruitment
About you
To be shortlisted for this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Previous experience in roles leading development teams to successful delivery
- Proved Agile experience ideally in roles during an implementation
- Strong hands on coding experience (JavaScript, Java or .Net ideally)
- Experience setting up test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong knowledge of cloud hosting (AWS or Azure) and micro-services architecture
- Exceptional people skills with the ability to manage up and down, working with a range of stakeholders in technical and non-technical roles
- A positive attitude and an exceptional commitment to quality and results
The offer
Working from their new offices, you will be joining a growing organisation and will work closely with the CTO to move the company's engineering platforms forward whilst bringing your teams on an exciting journey. For this role, you will be paid a negotiable salary up to $170,000 based on your level of experience.
