One of Australia's largest companies is looking to bring a SQL DBA into their digital division. The business is fast faced, the culture professional though not overly corporate, and the calibre of the team is excellent. The role is a permanent position.
  
The role itself has a heavy development flavour to it though has some elements of production support. You'd be working closely with the development team a they tackle a rebuild of this business critical system, and ensure the backend build is optimised. So you'd be the SQL subject matter expert, reviewing code, getting involved in Agile rituals (like the daily scrum), tackling database design, upskilling colleagues, etc, though would be striving to enhance db performance of the current system and providing high level support.

They basically want someone to own the system and make sure the back end sings, and doesn't need their hand held.
  
It's a leading edge tech stack: SQL 2016, Azure, noSQL and SSIS.

• SQL 2016 is essential,
• cloud would be great (AWS or Azure) though isn't absolutely essential.
• The ability to write SQL stored procedures, triggers, etc and basic functions like creating tables & indexes is though fundamental. 
• We'd also be keen to see a broad spectrum of experience across high availability, restores, recovery models, database shrink, and the range of SQL tools.
• Coding experience and a solid knowledge of Agile processes would also be beneficial, as would experience across NoSQL. 

  
That's the technical piece. We're also looking for an excellent communicator and a real team player. You'd be joining a quality team doing some high profile work.  The confidence to own the system and call the shots is also a huge piece of the puzzle.
  
There is an on-call component to the role. You'd be expected to join the on call roster. There isn't a huge volume of our of hours calls, and the work can largely be handled remotely.
  
The role can is based in the CBD (close to Central). Once established and settled in the role, there will also be scope to work from home. The pay is excellent - $135K base + super + bonus. We may even have some wiggle room on that if you tick all of the boxes
