As Senior ICT Service Architect, you will work closely with key stakeholders (including customers, suppliers, vendors, and technical delivery areas) to develop architectures for ICT services for Queensland Government clients that deliver value for money through design for effective and efficient service operation. This is an initial 4-month contract + extensions based in the CBD.

CITEC ICT is a shared service ICT provider to Queensland Government. It has a range of “services” is provides including connectivity, compute, storage, data centres, etc. These are run internally in a multi-tenant mode and can have specific KPIs, costing and pricing structures with each customer. Similar in some way to commercial entities such as AWS, Azure, etc.

The output from the role is to be able to:

  • Understand the problem space for each service.
  • Undertake analysis to determine service direction and business viability with high level financial analysis.
  • Develop the service line review document detailing the direction, business viability and a roadmap to deliver on that direction.

As Senior ICT Service Architect you will:

  • Design and develop ICT service models and architectures that enable the Queensland Government service delivery vision and future business directions across ICT and align with the Queensland Government Enterprise Architecture;
  • Undertake the review of ICT service offerings and develop roadmaps to enable change and deliver on future ICT direction and customer needs;
  • Support other parts of ICT, by providing expert advice on ICT services to ensure effective and complete designs, costed quotations, concept proposals etc. that meets ICT architecture standards;
  • Provide support and strategic advice to the GM ICT, Senior Management, program/project teams and stakeholders on broad/diverse range of issues relating to ICT services and best practice application of those services to meet organisational goals; and
  • Analyse contemporary ICT issues and continuously seek improvements on systems to support current and future services; including developing business, cost and price models for new service offerings.

About you:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in architecting ICT services to deliver effective business outcomes including the design, costing, pricing, implementation and continual improvement of those architectures;
  • High level written communication skills and the ability to effectively demonstrate the strategic value of ICT in achieving operational goals including the whole-of-government agenda through business cases, strategies, roadmaps and proposals;
  • Ability to manage a group of experts and lead the development of complex ICT architectures, ensuring consistency with specified requirements, agreed with both external and internal customers, ensuring synergy between functional, service quality and operational management requirements;
  • Demonstrated personal drive, public service professionalism and probity when embracing and dealing with new challenges; and
  • Well developed interpersonal communication skills and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to influence and negotiate beneficial outcomes.
