Green Light have an exciting opportunity for a high calibre, experienced Security Specialist to join our Canberra Security delivery team. This position will provide high level support in the planning, implementation and improvement of Green Light’s client’s cyber security capabilities.

The Security Specialist will contribute to the development and implementation of security architecture, standards, procedures and guidelines for multiple platforms and systems. The role requires a forward thinking individual with the ability to speak with business and operational personnel regarding new and existing technologies and making recommendations when required.

 Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Project Security Accreditation & Certification Plan
• Identify and articulate use cases for system access, data access, event logging etc. for complex IT systems
• Perform accurate and precise real-time analysis and correlation of logs/alerts from a multitude of client devices with a focus on the determination of whether said events constitute security incidents.
• Analyse and assess security incidents and escalate to client resources or appropriate internal teams for additional assistance
• Responsible for development of the end-to-end Statement of Applicability
• Responsible for development of the end-to-end Security Accreditation Plan
• Act as the subject matter expert for the key Government Security standards and frameworks
• Manage all customer situations in a professional manner with emphasis on customer satisfaction.
• Interact with, configure, and troubleshoot network intrusion detection devices and other security systems via proprietary and commercial consoles, both local and remote.
• Review system definition artefacts like architecture document, high level design, low level design and perform analysis of a complex IT system in a security logging and monitoring and auditing context.

Required:

• NV1 Security Clearance is highly regarded
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a security specialist
• EndPoint Protection and Vulnerability Management.
• Experience within Defence ICT environment
• Detailed understanding of security management practices
• Understanding of Federal government security standards and frameworks and how these are practically applied in the Defence environment
• Assist system owners to develop and implement security plans, policies and procedures.
• Experience providing high level business leadership and strategic advice on cyber security to stakeholders.
• Conduct security and quality assurance reviews of security documentation, project, and external service provider deliverables.
