Primary purpose of the role

The Change Director is responsible for evolving the IT Infrastructure Services Operating Model in collaboration with Service Delivery and Service Operations (IT Infrastructure Services), Group IT, and Supplier and Agency stakeholders. This role is instrumental in enabling key stakeholders to agree, adopt and embed changes introduced by the IT Infrastructure Strategic Plan, IT Infrastructure Services Operating Model Strategy and Supplier Sourcing and Management Strategy.The role requires an understanding of and experience in all aspects of strategy and delivery of large-scale and complex organisational transformation.

 Key accountabilities

  • Deliver, implement and support business transformation within the agreed governance and program methodology.
  • Evolve and refine the IT Infrastructure Services Operating Model in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Define the organisational change management strategy and approach to embed new ways of working.
  • Drive ‘leader led change and support the culture change necessary to fully operationalise the operating model.
  • Build ownership and involve people to transition from the current to future state operating model.
  • Baseline the current state and track progress towards full adoption.
  • Support adoption through frequent and open communications.
  • Rollout a learning plan to optimise new ways of working and achieve required behavioural changes.

 Selection Criteria

  • 10+ years’ experience leading or managing business change in largescale matrix organisations; and significant experience in the development of Engagement, Governance and Operating Models.
  • Demonstrated strength in working with business implementation and technical partners to understand change being introduced, and in response formulate appropriate change approach, strategy and plans.
  • Demonstrated   , including organisational change management and training for large programs of work. Experience within the context of NSW Government preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in and understanding of Business Process Improvement methodologies, IT Service Management and application of these approaches in a complex ICT program environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating or presenting in large forums, and strong stakeholder engagement experience influencing and negotiating with a range of professionals to gain support and commitment to the transition and transformation program.
  • Proven ability to clearly communicate deliverables, timelines, budgets, risks, milestones and the critical path of multiple streams of work.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including experience in authoring change management documentation, training and communication plans. 
  • A master’s degree in business administration and tertiary qualifications in organisational change management.
