About the role

We are looking for a Principal Advisor – Operations Architecture to manage a high performing 24 x7 Production /Mining operational assets for the APAC West hub through effective strategy, design, standards, roadmaps and implementation. This role is responsible for optimisation of the operational services and for assisting in continual improvement of operational services. Finally the role will act as an authority for projects / scope transferring to Operate within the APAC West Hub.

This role is also involved in all new technology / platforms / applications coming into the Operate team, a great opportunity to learn how the APAC West Assets function. Reporting to the General Manager - APAC West Operate, you will:

• Develop cost effective architecture capability, roadmaps and supporting solutions for stable / resilient Operations in line with the APAC West hub requirements.
• Support Business partners and the wider team in delivering services including; vision and definitions, architecture design quality assurance of pre-flight and inflight projects, reference architecture development and road mapping to ensure stable operations for APAC West customers.
• Ensures provision of secure, interoperable, sustainable, reusable solutions across the APAC West Hub customers.
• Drive the maximum value from technology already in place and promote the use of new technology when and where appropriate.
• Actively engages with peer level across APAC West Hub / other Hubs / Wider IS&T to monitor quality of solution design impacting scope.
• Drive a consistent end to end process from idea inception to Service-to-Support Transition (STS) to operations.
• Continually streamline and improve the STS process to reduce the burden on projects and ensure the handovers are “fit-for-purpose” for operations.
• Engage with leader, team, peers and collaborative groups, internal and external to the organization, to identify priorities for innovation and adoption of emerging technologies.
• Ensure connection to Hub assets with appropriate travel (monthly at a minimum) to understand key challenges/bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement/value.
• Work with Global Group function on Strategy and Architecture other teams and partners on visionary prototyping and operational stability of incoming projects.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

• Excellent collaboration, influencing and negotiation abilities.
• Strong understanding of operational / customer requirements (Tonnes/ Safety) 
• Strong ability to drive continuous improvement and optimisation of budgets
• Strategic and organisational agility.
• Ability to manage and drive outcomes through others In-depth knowledge of Operations / technologies / processes.
• Knowledge of Application/ Service Management Infrastructure design, build and operate processes with a focus on operational stability and resilience.
• Knowledge of the industry landscape/ market forces / disruptive market.
• Understands IT service cost drivers.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in architecting for 24x7 Production environment.
• Strong technology architecture knowledge.
• Exposure to operating with large scale within a diverse organisations.
• Experience of working with external suppliers, including outsource providers.
