Platform Engineer - Integration / API

We’d like to hear from you if you have the following experience:

Technical Skills:
• Designing and developing modern integration and API platforms (Mulesoft / Camel / Fuse / AWS / Apigee / Axway).
• Development within distributed systems using Java and open source technologies
• Cloud technologies and services (AWS / Azure / Google Cloud Platform)
• DevOps philosophies and toolchains such as continuous integration and delivery
• Container technologies (eg Docker) and their associated orchestration engines (Kubernetes / Openshift / Rancher / Swarm)
• Knowledge of security and performance considerations and approaches for online systems, and exposure to security and performance testing process
• Experience helping clients define technical and non-functional requirements
• Proven client-facing agency or consulting experience within a reputable professional services organisation, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues and design decision to Experience providing technical, estimation and solution definition support for tenders and proposals.

Consulting Skills:
• Ability to engage with business stakeholders to understand their priorities, value drivers and needs.
• Strong ability to provide well-conceived, clearly articulated, pragmatic solutions and recommendations to complex business problems.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work load, meet project deadlines, and drive results
• Excellent verbal and oral communication skills, including presentations and negotiations
• Ability to communicate complex / technical issues to non-technical audiences
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously

A Day in the Life of a Platform Engineer

While you are encouraged to be innovative in devising solutions, below are a set of activities that typically helps a Platform Engineer achieve his/her business goals in a structured way:

Roles and Responsibilities
• Working on platforms or architectural relevant updates of existing platforms (provisioning and operational maintenance of the landscape is done by operations)
• Define, maintain and implement enterprise-wide standards of the platform
• Develop and implement governance and operating concepts for the portfolio in collaboration with IT-Service Delivery
• Define and develop a sustainable and efficient platform architecture and maintain platform data and permission model
• Consult and support the integration and development of applications on defined application platforms
• Plan and control the implementation of platforms in close collaboration with the business
• Create and maintain coding conventions in collaboration with IT-Service Delivery and other stakeholder
• Be a key contributor to their assigned project(s)
• Work collaboratively with clients and project team members to deliver technical project(s) that meet or exceed the client’s needs
• Work with clients to document their business needs and to translate those requirements into the technology application stack/solution to-be delivered
• Gain exposure to technology and framework through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which includes capturing client requirements, designing a solution that meets their needs, building technical artifacts, testing the system, and deploying the whole package for a successful go-live
• Create and maintain client deliverables (e.g., design specifications, architecture diagrams, installation guides, status updates)
• Define, estimate, develop, and test objects
• Follow tasks as assigned by team leads, proactively communicating concerns or recommendations
• Provide accurate and proactive time and expense entry and reporting
• Create, maintain, and report on tasks and due dates
• Proactively pitch in to help peers and offer support where needed
• Seek opportunities to improve the organization when there is downtime

The minimum salary requirement for this role is AU $80,000 including 9.5% superannuation
