About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to join TPG’s IT Networks department! As a IT Networks Team Leader, you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing project and operational work.

This unique opportunity needs significant technical expertise coupled with effective communication with all areas of the business, ensuring high quality outcomes and aggressive targets are met within tight time frames. Day to day, you'll get your hands dirty assisting fellow network, other technical staff and outsiders to make sure everyone's on the same page and projects are tracking to schedule. 

This role will focus on ensuring continuous improvement and optimal service is provided to internal and external customers, this may include management of the design and deployment of new initiatives, as well as maintaining the integrity of the network and the associated documentation. You will have fundamental involvement in assisting the build of TPG’s new mobile platforms.

Specifically, the role will be responsible for the following:

  • Management of TPG’s Corporate and Cloud networks;
  • Leadership duties of the IT Networks team;
  • Design and deploy network solutions using a variety of technologies;
  • Managing and coordinate day-to-day project work in line with assigned priorities and schedules;
  • Developing positive working relationships with vendors to escalate operational issues as needed and arrange product briefings;
  • Mentoring and training the Network/System Engineers and Administrators to support ongoing professional development within the team;
  • Working with other networking teams in the business (service provider operations and engineering, wifi, voice, transmission) to bring the best of each discipline to the business.

 

About the Person

To be considered for the position, the candidate will have the following experience/qualifications:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a networking environment, with minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership role;
  • Bachelor degree in relevant field or higher required;
  • Experience with NFVi, Cloud networks for design, build and support is highly desirable;
  • Experience in enterprise network design and operation is essential, service provider advantageous;
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure and protocols: IPv4/IPv6, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, Ethernet, QOS, EIGRP, LACP, STP, BFD;
  • Experience with Cisco datacentre networking infrastructure (Nexus, FEX, FI) is essential, including knowledge of architectures and technologies such as VDCs, VPCs, VXLAN, Leaf and Spine, LISP, ACI, server virtualisation (ESX or HyperV), SAN;
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) (Routing & Switching or Datacentre) certification will be highly regarded;
  • Exposure to security technologies Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, FortiGate, IPSec, 802.1x, Cisco Identity Services Engine and load balancing technologies from A10 and F5;
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux or Windows system administration with network management tools such as RANCID, MRTG, Cacti, Observium, Nagios, Puppet, Netflow;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to liaise with staff, customers and vendors.
