Business and Position Purpose
The Australian Medical Council is the accreditation authority for the medical profession in Australia, accredits programs in Australia and New Zealand, and works with other accreditation and standards authorities nationally and internationally. The Data Conversion Specialist will be working with:
- the Accreditation Management System (AMS) project team and other key stakeholders to analyse, document, extract, transform and migrate data from AMC’s legacy systems (the Contacts database) for use in the new Integrated Accreditation Management System (IAMS) system, a commercial off the shelf product currently under development with the vendor
- the ICT services business area to document the existing legacy database entities and relationships for the existing database landscape across AMC in preparation for replacement as part of the ICT Strategy
Key Selection Criteria
Experience/Knowledge
- Experience in migrating data from a legacy system into new systems
- Experience mining data using Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Demonstrate extensive experience analysing large complex data sets
- Documentation skills required for producing data mapping / migration / transformation and other project documentation and;
- Strong analytical skills and an understanding of database design, data elements, data modelling and data processing.
- Programming skills in order to develop custom middleware solutions

Additional Qualifications/Experience (Desirable)
- Tertiary qualifications in information management, computer science or a related field
- Application software solutions development experience to maximise data gathering and data analysis

This position is being offer as a 12-month contract. A salary package of between $121,400 and $149,394 (inclusive of superannuation) is available, depending on skills and experience.
