Serve as a Senior Project Manager within the Verizon Professional Services Advanced Communications organization and to its key clients.  To manage and take ownership of complex customer projects in such a way that each project is accomplished to the satisfaction of the customer contract / Statement of Work, on schedule, quality assured and within budget. 

To ensure that customer projects are planned, coordinated and communicated in a professional manner, keeping customer and internal stakeholders regularly informed of progress, and ensuring that all stakeholder expectations are managed and that customer committed dates are consistently met.

To have demonstrable experience of managing the implementation of Cisco centric Unified Communications & Collaboration technologies to enterprise clients in the global theatre to include Unified Communications, Cisco CUCM, VOIP / IP Telephony, SIP and associated technologies. The candidate must have proven experience with ‘aaS (Cloud based “as a Service”) UC&C application and voice product delivery, and Contact Centre Enterprise with IVR, WorkForce Management and Voice recording applications delivery experience would advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for the on-time, on-budget, high quality deliverables of large scale Unified Communications and IT infrastructure transformational projects for F500 customers
  • Consistently represent self as the delivery leader
  • Responsible for overall success of projects including fulfillment of the client business and technical requirements and adherence to the approved project scope and budget
  • Consistently execute according to the Verizon Delivery Methods centered on the PMI / Prince2 delivery model
  • Develop strong professional relationships with client and internal senior stakeholder(s) consistently demonstrating knowledge of the client business/industry and knowledge of Verizon’s Professional Services offering
  • Demonstrate clear and consistent ownership and accountability for the delivery of the programme / projects as represented in the Statement of Work
  • Provide thought leadership around strategic direction and plans
  • Provide leadership to the programme / project teams and project managers, Coordinators and Consultants assuring all deliverables are being delivered on time, to quality and within budget
  • Management of third party vendors where engaged on owned programmes / projects
  • Work with other Verizon Project Management organizations to achieve the business outcome
  • Work with Sales Leadership to identify further opportunities
  • Assume responsibility for the overall success of a client programme overseeing adherence to the approved project scope and budget

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree in IT and a certification in project management are required
  • 10 years of recent project management experience at a senior level with most recent years focused on large network Unified Communications and infrastructure implementation projects
  • Extensive Unified Communications implementation experience – Primary experience in Cisco centric Unified Communications to include IP Telephony
  • Must have proven experience with ‘aaS (Cloud based “as a Service”) UC&C application and voice services product delivery
  • Demonstrable knowledge & experience of Cisco CUCM, Collaboration and VOIP application deployment to the enterprise and globally
  • Experience of global Contact Centre technologies ideally Cisco UCCE, and WorkForce Management, Call recording technologies would be advantageous
  • In-depth understanding of project management processes and principles, including experience in deliverables associated with these practices
  • Ability to lead and manage diverse consulting engagements and multi-task and be aware of several simultaneous work streams
  • Able to host and facilitate meetings attended by client executives, stakeholders and Verizon executives
  • Must possess strong presentation and communications skills to accurately represent and convey information both in verbal and written form to multiple levels of an organization
  • Significant organization skills and ability to store and recall large volumes of information
  • Strong communication skills to accurately represent and convey information both in verbal and written form
  • Experience managing remote and leveraged resources across multiple business and technical silos
  • A flexible approach to working as extended hours and weekend working is a requirement to be able to serve Verizon’s customers on a global scale

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL certification
  • Previous consulting experience
