About The Role

The DevOps Lead is responsible for the lead and development of the Service Delivery Platform (SDP) DevOps practice, deployment and maintenance of a cloud-based business Applications and SaaS solutions.  This also includes the implementation of Civica’s CI/CD Infrastructure and centralize onto one platform.  

Responsibilities

• Design, Build and maintain the CI/CD Infrastructure and tools;
• Design and Develop the test automation to validate the builds in the CI/CD pipeline;
• Work closely with and part of the Libraries and Education (LES) development teams to ensure that solutions are designed with customer user experience, scale/performance and operability in mind;
• Deploying, automating, maintaining and managing Azure, AWS and GCP cloud based production system as well as private cloud infrastructure Hyper-converge and virtualisation stacks, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of productions systems;
• Improving site performance, monitoring, and overall stability of our PAAS platform;
• Troubleshooting and resolution of server/network issues;
• Automation of deployment, customization, upgrades and monitoring through DevOps tools meant for Cloud management;
• Performance tuning, monitoring, maintaining fault tolerant/HA infrastructure;
• Build documentation of operating procedures and provide knowledge transfer;
• Build, release and configuration management of production systems;

About You

The successful DevOps Lead will show a clear ability to communicate and articulate their ideas and well as the willingness to learn new technologies and concepts.  They will also possess a desire to train and manage the DevOps Analyst within their team. 

Technical skills include:

• More than 5 years’ experience in a DevOps role
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or other equivalent technical discipline
• Strong background of CI/CD Pipeline design, implementation and management
• Experience with using tools like Git, SVN, TeamCity, VSTS etc and knowledge of SCM concepts;
• Public Cloud: 5+ years’ experience with using a broad range of Azure, AWS (maintain a public cloud based solution, with an emphasis on best practice cloud security)
• DevOps: Previous solid experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime private and public cloud environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools;
• Configuration Management: Strong knowledge of configuration management process using software such as Ansible, Puppet and/or Chef;
• Scripting Skills: Strong scripting (e.g. Python) and automation skills;
• Version Control: Experience administrating version control systems such as SVN.
