The Opportunity

 

We currently have an opportunity within our organisation as a consultant SQL Developer/ Data Analyst from a strong mining background to join our highly-skilled team. You will play a key role on a data migration package of work. This will involve in-depth data analysis, development of data standards and recommendations on the required solution moving forward.

To join our team, you will demonstrate:

·         Knowledge of the mining industry is essential

·         Modify and adapt complex Transact-SQL stored procedures to work with new table structures

·         Use tools like SQL Profiler for database tuning.   Generate traces and make performance recommendations

·         Identify performance issues, deadlocks/contention and resolve them.

·         Manage production, QA and development database environments.

·         Create detailed documentation for tables and stored procedures

·         Able to comprehensively test the application against the original version using automation where appropriate.

·         Learn relevant business processes and understand the data flow, criticality and dependencies.

·         Effectively coordinate and communicate with all the stakeholders (internal teams and clients).

·         Attend meetings as and when directed, planning meetings, safety meetings, progress & status update meetings and other stakeholder meetings.

·         Conduct technical risk analysis of the proposed solutions and alternatives.

·         Undertake site inductions and safety training where applicable.

·         Able to work autonomously and own the outcome.

·         Able to modify the design as new requirements or constraints are identified.

·         Extensive experience writing T-SQL and stored procedures and query tuning on high transaction systems.

·         Sound knowledge of RDBMS concepts, database architecture and SQL/T-SQL.

·         Knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures.

·         Proficient with SQL server profiler for monitoring and troubleshooting database activity and performance.

·         Ability to create and maintain detailed stored procedure and database related documents.
