Solid SQL Database Developer
Join a blue chip company as a MS SQL Developer on an initial 3 month contract (with extensions) based in the Brisbane CBD.
In this role you will utilising your previous MS SQL experience to extract mining data as required, take requirements from users and build quality and useful systems and reports for the organisation.
As the SQL Developer you will interact regularly with internal and external business clients to capture and understand reporting and data service requests, will help define and clarify requirements, define and propose appropriate solutions and provide guidance for development of the reporting solution with the assistance of a development team. In addition you will develop reports as per the defined development methodologies.
Keys skills, previous experience and responsibilities will include, yet are not limited to:
- Advanced SQL development experience using Microsoft SQL Server (ideally 2016) including Microsoft SQL Server Integration (SSIS)
- Strong Microsoft SQL Database Management, including Data Modelling/Database Design
- SQL stored Procedure and dimensional modelling experience and familiarity with Excel and Excel Models
- Experience writing complex SQL queries to analyse data within a relational database
- Skills in SSRS or other reporting tools Tableau experience preferred
- Ability to understanding mining terminology especially related to Coal Preparation
- Ability to communicate clearly with key business stakeholders and system users
- Desirable Experience using mining operational reporting solutions such as: Trimble Connected Mine (MMRS), MinVu, Intov8, Corvus etc. or other similar DW’s with a particular focus on mining and processing is essential;
- Desirable Experience with production systems databases from the mining and manufacturing areas (Mine Monitoring and Control, Asset Health, Historians, Delay Accounting, Logistics and Inventory) ;
- Strong understanding of relational databases architectures;
- Expertise in end user Report design, development, QA and implementation following the SDLC process;
- Demonstrated ability to drive to deadlines, balancing multiple priorities, and ensuring quality standards; and
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and innovative thinking skills.
