We are seeking an experienced developer to join our technology team aligned to Commodities and Global Markets Group (CGM). CGM is the global trading & hedging, financing and research operations within Macquarie and is a core business with strong global foundations. This is a great opportunity for a developer with strong technical and communication skills to deliver in a challenging and dynamic environment.
In this position there will be a focus on project deliveries and continuous improvements across a large range of applications supporting the business. You’ll be part of a dynamic team that develops and supports globally used applications.
Key requirements
- delivery and support of in-house developed and vendor solutions
- take part in full solution delivery lifecycle
- strong programming skills in Java
- strong knowledge of SQL
- relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, computer science or equivalent
- SDLC and Agile methodologies
- an evolving DevOps culture gives you ownership of your solutions/applications.
To be successful in this role you will have experience in a selection from the following
- strong sense of ownership with a passion for development and delivering quality software
- Java framework knowledge and experience – SOA, GC, Multithreading, Hibernate, Spring
- experience in server side development, Maven, Git, Ajax, XML/json, JavaScript technologies
- experience with CI / CD tools
- experience with AWS
- scripting – Unix, Python
- analytical thinking and problem solving capability
- strong oral and written communication
- ability to work in an environment with changing priorities
- financial industry experience would be highly regarded.
