Based in Sydney, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Principle Sales Engineer to join the newly formed Citrix Team, reporting to the Senior Business Manager. Immersed in our vibrant and dynamic culture, your role is responsible for identifying and matching technology opportunities with Partners, business issues and objectives, as well as delivering channel partner training & enablement. You will also demonstrate your unparalleled initiative by acting as a critical technical interface between the Sales organization and internal product teams and driving cross-team sales impact with technical expertise, account strategy, superior sales ability and an Enterprise level customer focus.  You will hit the ground running as a brand ambassador with a passion for service excellence, where challenging daily tasks await, and endless opportunities abound.

What you will need to succeed in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years prior sales engineering experience in a high-tech environment in an indirect sales and procurement environment with a demonstrated track-record of success in driving customer adoption of technology
  • Relevant Citrix Certified Expert (CCE) certification is highly desired
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Server Administrator certification
  • Extensive account management experience, preferably with experience managing large and/or strategic accounts
  • Deep and broad experience across industry technologies
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory and other locations including Corporate headquarters
  • Strong ability to motivate, train and conduct seminars to drive mind share within CSA & CSP partners to increase Citrix revenues within assigned territory
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with technical resources at all levels of a Partners organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical sales techniques and processes
  • Solid understanding of Citrix competitive domain and technologies.
  • Ability to articulate and understand the customer strategy and Citrix solution strategy to a technical level of detail
  • Ability to anticipate and diffuse complicated technical and political situations with partners and customers.
  • Flexible, dependable, and capable of quickly learning new products and technologies.
  • Demonstrated broad understanding of one of the following areas of focus:
    • Desktop/Application/Server Virtualization
    • Enterprise Mobility Management
    • Networking
  • Exhibits a positive attitude

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, as well as excellent presentation skills

What you will do in this role:

  • As a veteran sales technology professional with field experience, develop pre-sales technical strategy in support of the sales process across Citrix Products and Solutions.
  • Provide a role within the sales teams in assessing potential application of Citrix products to meet Partners business needs across various strategic accounts.
  • Conduct executive-level product demonstrations and technical presentations remotely or at customer locations/Citrix facilities on Citrix products value proposition
  • Build complex, multi-product proof of concept solutions for customer evaluations as part of a sales engagement process.
  • Leverage product knowledge to provide technical Citrix Expertise to internal sales teams, CSA/SI partners and end users
  • Develop customer requirements that map to Citrix solutions, assists with overcoming technical and competitive objections, and accelerates technical evaluation component of sales cycle to close deals.
  • Leverage the consultative sales process to prospective users to determine product capability assessment and validation as it applies to the technical sales process.
  • Work on issues that impact design/selling success or address future concepts, products or technologies.
  • Create formal networks with key decision makers in assigned accounts.
  • Serve as an external spokesperson and evangelist for Citrix’s vision and associated technologies.
  • Leverage and maximize CSA/CSBA/SI/ISV partners as the fulfillment channel while working with Citrix end user accounts on IT initiatives.
  • Provide regular and efficient updates on assigned accounts to sales engineering management.
  • Contribute to the broader team’s technical mindshare
  • Be seen as a sales professional that can function as a sales representative as needed.
  • Present/communicate at an executive level to multiple customers/prospects
  • Positively influence sales opportunities beyond their own assigned account set and have a solid understanding of Citrix domain, competitive technologies (VMware, MobileIron, Good, F5) and how to position to “win”
  • Viewed as an expert by peers and when interacting with internal teams to further sales initiatives on behalf of the Sales Team
