St Barbara is an Australian based ASX listed gold producer and explorer and our assets include Leonora Operations in Western Australia and Simberi Operations in Papua New Guinea.

We seek an experienced IT Administrator to join our Leonora team on a permanent full-time basis. This is a Fly-In, Fly-Out family friendly roster of 8 days on 6 days off roster from Perth or Kalgoorlie.

Reporting to the Manager IT Operations and Networks, your skill in providing timely and effective IT and communications support services to the Leonora Operations team will be essential for success in the role.

In this role you will be the first point of contact for IT related matters on site. Your quick thinking and solutions-focussed mindset will be a great asset. Supporting all teams on site, you will be required to drive between site offices, and at times, venture underground as required to provide support.



Key accountabilities of the role you will be responsible for include:

  • Ensuring the provision of first level customer support to all users at Leonora Operations in order for timely resolution of IT issues and requests, with escalation to second level support with follow up when appropriate.
  • Ensuring the effective provision of IT requirements to users at Leonora Operations.
  • Adhering to active directory to ensuring compliance with corporate governance and audit requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate information relating to the IT asset register at Leonora Operations.
  • Effectively performing hardware maintenance as required.
  • Completing site based projects as agreed with the Manager IT Operations and Networks.



As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in IT or a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • At least five years’ relevant experience in a similar role
  • LANs and WANs experience
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong influencing skills to work closely with site teams
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks
  • Current unencumbered West Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
