Overview:
Our NSW Government Client is in the process of implementing a new Practice Management System; Thomson Reuter’s Elite 3e and Mattersphere. The opportunity is for an initial 12 months and is perfect for a mid level BA. The BA will take direction and report into the Senior BA and the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for a business analyst to work in conjunction with the current business analysts in our team to undertake the following activities:
- Elicit existing processes and requirements from users and ‘as is’ documentation
- Analyse and compare ‘as is’ functions with ‘to be’ contractual and user requirements
- Test application features against contractual requirements and existing user functions
- Assist users to create and document UAT test plans
- Analyse and document issues arising from own analysis/testing and UAT testing by users
- Develop and document changed processes for utilising the new system
- Modify and/or create user how to, reference & training documentation for utilising the new system
The role will be for a period of up to 12 months at this stage to perform the above tasks through iterations of customisation, data conversion and UAT testing, but could be extended to include further work specifying and/or implementing workflows and precedents.
Essential Skills Required:
- Experience in a legal services environment with knowledge of how a law practice functions.
- Extensive experience as a Process / Business Analyst.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and document business processes, identify alternative solutions, assess feasibility, and recommend new approaches.
- Experience in the creation of UAT scripts and co-ordination of UAT efforts, throughout the development lifecycle
- Able to assist in creation of training modules through the UAT and Process Mapping activities
- Understanding of Project management methodologies
In addition, exposure to Elite 3E / Mattersphere is highly desirable but alternative experience in one or more of the following will be considered:
- Knowledge and experience in the application of workflows within a Practice Management System
- Knowledge and experience in the use of precedents linked to workflows within a Practice Management System
- Exposure to financial back office processes within a legal environment
