An exciting opportunity currently exists within a NSW Department for a self-motivated dynamic person with proven experience in Windows Desktop Administration.

The desktop environment that the successful candidate will be working in is a large multifaceted ecosystem comprising of more than 400,000 devices across 2,200 NSW locations. This universal self-service approach to ICT services, provides a common, fit for purpose range of technologies that staff can utilise to deploy, build and manage a variety of devices.

This rewarding position embraces all aspects of Desktop Administration, ranging from Operating System deployments, Group Policy configuration and remote Windows troubleshooting techniques. Based within the Desktop Platforms team, the role is heavily involved in the implementation and support of the Modern Windows Desktop landscape, utilising evolving technologies such Intune, Configuration Manager, AAD and other like tool sets.

Automation is an important part of this landscape and have the ability to writing and understand Microsoft PowerShell will be seen as an advantage during the application process.

This position has the responsibility as a 3rd level desktop support escalation point and thus operational knowledge of ITIL frameworks such as Change, Problem and Incident management is a role requirement.

To be considered as a potential candidate for this position, the applicant should clearly demonstrate how your industry experience and professional skills, compliment and align to the technical nature of the position. The application should be concise and directly address the core elements of the position, by providing straightforward relevant examples of skills and experience of each of the different technology layers and key components outlined within the role.

Required Technical Skills
• Proven experience in Windows Desktop Administration principals, including Windows Servicing and imaging methodologies, remote troubleshooting and Modern Device Management techniques.
• Demonstrated operational knowledge of Operation System Deployment methods using Microsoft Configuration Manager.
• Demonstrated experience using Windows PowerShell and VBScript scripting languages to administrator Windows Operating Systems.
• Proven experience in Group Policy management and implementation procedures.
• Ability to work within a team to deliver outcomes on time and to an agreed schedule.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service practices.
• Ability to take guidance and direction where necessary to deliver highly scalable outcomes on time and to an agreed schedule
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Clear understanding of ITIL Change, Problem and Incident frameworks.
