Role Summary / Description      

In this role the Solution Sales Specialist will be primarily responsible for the commercial development of our data centre and cloud services.  This is a customer centric role that also requires a solid understanding of technology and the associated sales process.  The Solutions Sales Specialist will identify, qualify and pursue new customer engagements.  They will also help the organisation develop new products and services that suite our business model. 

The successful applicant will have a background in B2B ICT sales (preferably traditional data centre / infrastructure sales) with a keen interest in emerging cloud technologies. 

This is a contract role with the possibility of extension or permanency.

Role Functions

  • Work as part of a team to realise the organisation’s growth goals.
  • Account and relationship management: assist existing and new customers with their service requirements.
  • Identify, qualify and pursue new opportunities including leading tender responses.
  • Presenting proposals to partners and customers.
  • Developing and maintaining solution partner relationships.
  • Productise service concepts into repeatable service offerings.
  • Evangelise the Cloud and general brand promotion.
  • Reporting to Business Services Manager.

Requirements or Selection Criteria (Knowledge and Experience)

  • Previous experiencing in selling ICT solutions in a B2B context in the following areas:
    • Data centre and infrastructure services (e.g. storage, virtualisation, Cisco, Veeam)
    • Public cloud (especially Amazon Web Services).

Including exposure to, or a keen interest in, emerging and new technologies (e.g. serverless deployments). 

  • Proven ability to work in a team and achieve sales goals.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain commercial relationships, and place the customer at the centre of everything you do e.g. visit a client at the drop of the hat.
  • Project and organisational skills required to drive projects to completion
  • Ability to complete an Australian Government Security Clearance and Police Clearance.

Desirable Criteria (including Personal Attributes)

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT, marketing or business disciplines.
  • Experience working in IT services or a hosting environment.
  • Exposure to ITIL Framework, service management and project management methodologies.
  • Highly developed communication skills in written and verbal forms.
  • Highly developed information management skills.
  • Positive working attitude with a commitment to professional development
