Our client, a science, research and innovation focused, Federal Government Organisation, is Seeking the experience of a Front End Developer (UI, Digital Transformation) for a 12 + 12 month contract, located in the Canberra City.
The primary duties of the Front End Developer (UI, Digital Transformation) will include but not be limited to:
- Create highly functional, visually rich interfaces that are both usable and accessible across all common browsers and devices;
- Prepare low and high fidelity (including HTML & CSS) mock ups and prototypes of visual design concepts and system components
- Drive the final appearance of the user interface by building the foundations of a consistent visual language and Design System;
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business.gov.au brand guidelines, design systems and compliance with accessibility standards;
- Work with product owners, delivery teams and designers to ensure a consistent experience for customers at every touchpoint, across multiple services/ products.
To be considered for this long Front End Developer (UI, Digital Transformation) contract opportunity you must have the following:
- A Baseline Security Clearance or higher;
- JavaScript (including third-party frameworks e.g. jQuery) development skills and a focus on front end performance;
- Rapid prototyping experience using CSS (including CSS3 - particularly media queries) and HTML (including HTML5);
- Experience designing for multiple browsers and devices, and meeting accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.0 AA;
- A very good eye for design detail and high standards;
- Strong communication skills with the ability to aptly articulate design decisions through a well-conceived rationale;
- Comfortable working with and influencing multiple stakeholders across multi-disciplinary teams in a large, complex environment
- Experience working with frameworks/libraries such as React.JS, SASS, LESS, Grunt, Node.JS etc (desired);
- Motion / animation experience with the ability to construct seamless interactions through functional modern effects, transitions and animations that add to the brand personality (desired);
- Experience working with third party content management systems (desired);
- Knowledge of analytics and SEO (desired);
- Skills in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Sketch (desired);
- Tertiary qualifications in a design related field: Graphic / Communication Design, Interaction Design, Product Design (desired);
- An understanding of UI workflow tools and frameworks (desired).
