Reporting to the VP of Product and Technology the Business Analyst (BA) will gather and define functional requirements from customers and business stake holders.

You will scope and document requirements to a high level of quality, ready for build/development. In addition, you will provide advice and recommendations on good practice for defining integration specification/requirements with the aim to improve timeliness of delivery, quality and maintainability of system documentation.

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for requirement gathering, understanding and sign-offs
  • Elicit and analyse the business need in close partnership of the stakeholders and cross functional teams
  • Organize and manage requirements gathering workshops with relevant stakeholders
  • Translate requirements into a language, which can be understood by the intended solution providers, technology teams, business stakeholders.
  • Analyse available options, understand constraints and recommend viable solutions
  • Collaborate with UX to design a user interface that addresses functional and user needs
  • Assist with user acceptance tests before go-live
  • Work Breakdown of activities, work estimation to feed into the Product roadmap
  • Help with Sprint planning to define priorities, resolve functional questions
  • Analyse emerging trends in healthcare that are relevant for product development
  • Identify areas of improvement based on standardized implementation approaches/trends in healthcare IT
  • Identify healthcare workflow challenges and provide solutions to build a feature rich product
  • Ability to work in a team with diverse skillsets required for product delivery
  • Work and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve problems and implement changes
  • Strong experience with working on projects that follow Agile or Waterfall models
  • Training, domain knowledge: Provide domain knowledge to new team members
  • Adhere to compliance requirements defined by the business
  • Ability to communicate with business users, technical and implementation teams effectively

Knowledge and Experience

  • Have excellent planning, time management and organisational skills particularly in managing multiple tasks and multi-disciplinary issues to meet deadlines.
  • Enjoy concept research and possess outstanding critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Can engage and collaborate on backlog requirements
  • Develop an understanding of relevant business processes and business logic. Ensure that all relevant processes are clearly documented.
  • Are familiar with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Possess documentation and specification skills.
  • Have massive attention to detail and easily build relationships and gather requirements from stakeholders.
  • Have outstanding communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred however not essential: experience playing the Scrum Master role and applying Scrum principles, practices and theory.
  • Will have some experience in the software development space plus a formal qualification in a relevant discipline such as Business or IT.
  • Any experience with My Health Record will be highly regarded.
