System Administrator - Atlassian products

As a System Administrator/ Configuration Specialist within Jira and Confluence, you play an important role in the establishment of a new Service Based Operating Model for one of our clients.

Working with a Business Analyst, you will be tasked with delivering business outcomes based on your own configuration advice. You will also ensure the successful knowledge transfer of all implemented deliverables throughout the project’s lifecycle.

Tasks and duties will include
• Provide advice and guidance on how to use the Atlassian products to their best advantage.

• Assess and advise on the Information Architectural and Jira Hierarchical Design intended to be deployed.
• Apply problem-solving skills to design, implement and support workable solutions to meet the defined business requirements.
• Build and manage the required configuration within Jira and Confluence to support a new Service Based Operating Model within an ITIL Service Delivery Environmental that will enable and support a high throughput velocity of complex network projects with associated workflows, triggered events from status changes within Tasks and data received from API calls and advanced JQL reporting.
• The setup of Confluence spaces as per an agreed information structure and assist with the import of data and documents from an SQL database (that were previously held in SharePoint).
• Establish RBAC views and dashboards per role across each of the Atlassian products.
• Assist our resident developers to utilise the Jira and Confluence APIs to exchange information with other internal applications.
• Ability to mentor and provide training to nominated staff that will be developed into Jira and Confluence Administrators.
• Provide application administration, application patching, add-on trouble shooting and user support during the project rollout phase.

To be successfully considered for this role you must meet the following criteria:
• Experience in the establishment of complex configuration within the latest On-Premise versions of: Jira Server, Portfolio for Jira Server, Confluence Server, Tempo Ad-on, Stride Server and Bitbucket Server. A Jira evangelist is what we need.
• Project experience in the deployment of Jira and Confluence within a complex business environment.
• Atlassian Certification, or equivalent demonstrated experience and skills, in (1) Certified Jira Administrator, (2) Certified Confluence Administrator and (3) Project Administration in Jira Server;
• Advanced JQL skills, trigger based events and workflow skills and the ability to build monitoring dashboards at a Portfolio Level.
• Experience in a Kanban or Agile project environment to develop and trouble-shoot Jira (and related ad-ons) and Confluence (and related ad-ons) deployment.
• As this project will also have a strong Organisational Change component, the ability to work in a complex environment with a positive outlook and uplifting demeanour is required.
