About Us

Travel Analytics is a technology startup designing products for the corporate travel industry, based in Melbourne and operating for the last 4 years. We are a setting our sights on expanding our product suite, and the time is right for a Startup CTO / Head of Technology to join our team and lead us into the next phase of growth.

We believe in making products that people love. Our small but dedicated team have been responsible for the development of a number of products that uniquely service Travel Management Companies and their corporate, government and university clients. TA Reporting™, our flagship SaaS product has a high level of customer engagement and product interaction.

The travel sector is set for a shake up as new product vendors and new channels to market for clients make waves across the industry. Travel Analytics is positioning its offering to support clients in managing a broader array of their reporting and data needs.

We currently work with clients across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

The Role

Travel Analytics is growing our team to handle our expanding client and product portfolio. We are currently seeking a Startup CTO / Head of Technology who is passionate about building great products, leading and developing talent within teams and has previous experience in running a development and product roadmap, including being ultimately responsible for technical choices and system architecture. You will lead and build out a team of engineers, providing guidance and oversight to ensure successful delivery and continuous improvement of our existing and new products. You will ensure the use of appropriate technologies, oversee the architecture, conform to the latest best practices and agile development methodologies and help the business make decisions that lead to a holistic ecosystem of products within the TA product suite.

In this role you will spend time working with both the management team on strategy and the future of the business and with the tech team in the detail of our products and the code.

Our tech stack includes some of the following technologies; experience in some or all of them will help your success in the role:

• Python: Flask, Django
• Javascript: WebPack, Angular, VueJS
• Amazon Web Services: EC2, S3, Lambda
• DevOps tooling: Packer, Docker, CloudFormation, Sceptre, Ansible

The following attributes will also contribute to success in the role:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field of study
• Effective experience as a Head of Technology or CTO within a startup (whether you held the title or not)
• Experience building and delivering SaaS products
• Experience in leading and architecting software projects
• Experience deploying and evolving agile practices
• Experience leading a team of software engineers
• Excellent communication skills

• Extensive knowledge of design patterns and systems architecture
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment practices and tools
• Experience with automated testing
• Interest or passion for functional programming
• Interest or passion for product design and management
