Client
I am currently working with a prestigious niche consulting firm, an organisation with a strong footprint globally within the Data and Analytics market. They have seen huge growth across APAC in the last 18 months with Australia being a regional hub, their centre of excellence for Data consulting.
Opportunity
On the back of recent success, they are continuing to expand their client footprint and are looking to grow their Big data capability within Melbourne. A data engineer with a strong Java background is needed to join a market leading Data Solution design team, building enterprise level market leading Data Solutions.
You will work across tier one, ASX20, organisations delivering true Business Transformation Solutions through the delivery of enterprise level Big Data Consulting.
You will be the master of your own destiny within this organisation. My client is looking for future business leaders and will invest heavily to develop you into thought leaders around Solution design and Architecture, a true Data evangelists!
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ development expertise within the data domain;
- 12 months’ minimum big data experience across any enterprise level platform;
- Passion for open source technologies, hands on knowledge of Hadoop including Pig, Sqoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka and Nifi;
- Exceptional Java skills, ideally you will have started your career as a software engineer;
- Proven experience working on end to end project delivery supporting solution designers, architects and technical BA’s;
- Big data platform experience with either Cloudera, Map3, Hortonworks, AWS;
- Hands on database exposure with knowledge of Teradata, MySQL, Oracle, DB2;
- A background in data engineering strong ETL, modelling and SQL skills. Exposure across traditional data technologies, Teradata experience is highly desirable;
- Strong consulting skills with proven senior stakeholder management expertise working in complex environments;
- Experience working in Agile SCRUM environments.
