About the role
We are seeking several junior Information Security Specialists to join DCS. You will be part of our Defensive Cyber team who work alongside our clients to understand their challenges and deliver solutions. This will include determining client capabilities, defining risk, and ultimately solving cyber problems to enhance security and protect critical business drivers. You will be working for our experienced Defensive Cyber leadership group, who will mentor and guide your development into a highly capable security specialist. The role is hands on with risk management and control framework analysis and is best suited to a candidate with junior experience.

What we expect from you:
- The ability to analyse a problem, determine your course of action, test your assessment and improve, express your plan;
- A desire to learn and develop, and then to continue learning;
- The ability to write and present technical information to a non-technical audience;
- An aptitude and passion for Information Security and Risk Management;
- 1 to 3 years' experience in either cyber/information security, IT risk management, or cyber intelligence services;
- Knowledge of the principals of security governance; information security risk, and control frameworks;
- Knowledge of IT security frameworks, such as NIST cyber security framework, and familiarity with guidelines such as ACSC Strategies to Mitigate Cyber Security Incidents;
- Exposure to performing assessments, audits, gap analysis, defining strategies and roadmaps;
- Exposure to key security-enabling technologies such as firewalls, IDPS, SIEM, End-point protection suites and PAM systems;
- A relevant industry qualification such as a CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, CISA, GISP is favourable but not mandatory; and
- Only applicants eligible to gain an Australian Government security clearance, as dictated by AGSVA will be considered.
