The Security Consultant is responsible for the delivery of business, structured and bespoke security consulting engagements to clients. Employing advanced verbal and written communication skills, in-depth technical background and the ability to explain security, the consultant will ensure successful consulting engagements, instilling confidence and trust in clients. Responsibilities include support of business development and pre-sales activities, delivery of consultancy engagements, communication to senior leadership and mentoring to other employees.
Responsibilities
- Participate as a specialist on structured and bespoke security consulting engagements
- Maintain familiarisation with security proprietary consulting methodologies
- Provide support of business development activities in the form of scoping, estimating and/or writing business proposals
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of consulting frameworks and methodologies
- Participate in client workshops, presentations, RFI/T/P's, and bid teams
- Serve as a mentor of other security staff
- Provide input to and help facilitate Security business objectives
- Maintain personal familiarity with current security industry news and trends
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years professional experience in IT, with at least 2 years’ experience in an Information Security, Risk Management, Audit or equivalent discipline
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree
- Industry certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, PCI-P, SABSA, ISO27000 Lead Auditor
- Expert knowledge of Information Security principles and practices
- Advanced project, analysis, problem solving, and business relationship skills
- Working knowledge of security standards such as ISO27000, PCI-DSS, Australian Privacy Principles
- Good understanding of current legislation and precedence governing IT
- Good understanding of IT Security technologies touching data, physical, business process, system integration, e-commerce
- Expert knowledge in the areas of IS Governance, Risk Management or Technical Security Services
- Excellent interpersonal and consultative skills
