About The Crew
Working across multiple scrum squads of top developers, engineers and analysts, you'll be an integral member of a dynamic team focused on disrupting the market and driving innovation in the e-commerce space.  

The Gig
You'll be involved and take a lead role in all aspects of the company's database environments.
From definition of requirements, design, development, maintenance, optimisation and everything in between.
Work closely with developers to optimise db operations, review code and implement improvements.
You'll also provide support on production environments at application level ensuring databases are optimal and assist on db related production incidents.

You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working with others and building solid professional relationships with team members and stakeholders.

The Essentials

• Sound knowledge of Agile & Lean delivery principals
• 8+ years' experience in roles focused on database administration and SQL development at enterprise level
• Excellent knowledge of SQL Server, performance optimisation and high-availability
• Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints).
• Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, clustering, database mirroring, replication.
• Expert experience in implementing operational automation.
• Strong knowledge of how indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching. How statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively.
• Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server tools (Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SAC, SSCM, PerfMon, DMVs, system sprocs).
• Solid acquaintance with windows server, security delegation, SPNs, storage components.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, query plan pinning, tuning database queries, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity and network issues, security issues, etc.
• Experience in working SSIS packages and resolving/debugging issues relating to SSIS packages.

• Experience with NoSQL DBs
• Experience with Azure OR AWS
