The Company and the Role

Agersens is launching a new, innovative product targeted at beef and dairy industries worldwide. This dynamic, cutting-edge startup is leading the way in AgTech IoT and aims to become the new industry leader in livestock automation.

Are you a talented frontend developer and excited by great user experiences? Our existing web application includes mapping tools, data visualisations and reporting, real-time socket communications and other modern components. Frontend elements are built in Angular, though with your help, we hope to introduce React to our toolkit, along with React Native in our mobile development. If you have a passion for learning, we would love to meet you.

Some key aspects of the role:

• Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager
• Located in Camberwell, Melbourne
• Long term role for the right person to grow with the business

Key Responsibilities

• Developing new features from designs and specifications on existing and future platforms
• Translating designs and wireframes into reusable components
• Writing and performing unit and functional tests
• Collaborating with partners and our design team to define new features
• Monitoring trends and technologies and researching new, creative solutions

Skills and Experience

• 1-2 years’ experience developing in Angular. 5+ years web app development experience.
• Experience with other JS frameworks (e.g. React, jQuery, Bootstrap)
• Excellent understanding of HTML5 and CSS standards
• Familiarity with state management (e.g. Redux)
• Familiarity with code versioning (e.g. Bitbucket, Git, SVN)
• Knowledge of responsive design approaches
• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Additional Desirable Attributes

• Experience with real-time databases and messaging (e.g. Firebase, Pub/Sub, Sockets)
• Experience with deployments, continuous integration and testing methods and tools
• Experience working in an Agile environment with related tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence)
• Experience with cartography tools and libraries (e.g. Google Maps API, GIS)
• Knowledge of visualisation libraries (e.g. Vue.js, D3.js)
• Knowledge of backend technologies a bonus, including virtualisation and containers (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Vagrant)
