About the role

As a member of the technical support team, they will interact directly with clients and other members of the Datacom Systems teams to support technology based solutions to meet client's business needs and challenges.

In conjunction with the rest of the team and under the supervision of the Wintel Team Leader, the Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the support of server infrastructure, within contracted time frames and services levels. This support will involve remote assistance over the phone and ad-hoc onsite visits when required and participating in an on-call roster for after-hours support.

The Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer will operate under the guidelines of pre-defined ITIL and ISO9001/20000 compliant processes and procedures and is expected to ensure effective and professional communication with all relevant parties.

The core responsibilities of the Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer include but are not limited to:

• Technical expertise - Cloud knowledge
• Obtaining and maintaining vendor certifications and study
• On-boarding of new clients
• On-call and after hours support

About you

To be considered for this position, you will need to possess the following:

• Ideally a minimum of three years' industry experience
• Validated knowledge of the VMWare product stack
• Validated knowledge of MS server operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, MS Exchange, Citrix XenApp and Ticket logging application
• Hands on experience of MS Server 2012, Cloud Services (AWS, Azure) and Office 365 would be advantageous
• Knowledge of Storage, SCCM, Cloud Services and Backup and Replication technologies would be advantageous
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills, with an exceptional customer focus
• Ability to develop and maintain productive internal and external relationships, partnerships and networks
• Customer service focus with the ability to empathise as well as prioritise
• Microsoft certification, VCP or CEE desirable
• ITIL certification or experience is desirable
• Flexibility towards both work and the role
