Project Manager, Literacy and Numeracy – NSW Government

A Project Manager with Business Analysis skills is required by a NSW Government Department based in Parramatta on an initial 8-month contract to work on their Literacy and Numeracy Strategy Program. The successful candidate will be leading the project management and business analysis of tools that support the delivery of their strategy.
  
Key responsibilities:

• Lead and manage planning of critical, highly complex ICT projects related to the strategy
• Develop and monitor project plans; resource estimation and scheduling, milestones and dependencies
• Manage permanent and ad hoc teams to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time and budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope
• Identify, understand and prioritise changing business needs
• Utilise both Agile and Waterfall methodologies where appropriate
• Write user stories and test criteria for the development of the product backlog
• Identify resource requirements for the work tasks
• Provide plain-language advice on technical issues to non-technical audiences
• Undertake data and process analysis to advise the development team on the feasibility of meeting users’ requirements

Selection criteria:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• Proven success in planning and initiating large, complex projects
• 5+ years in project management and/or business analysis
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a range of stakeholders (internal and external)
• Ability to successfully manage complex issues, in a cross-sectoral environment
• Demonstrated experience developing complex business systems
• Government experience advantageous
