Our Brisbane-based company (western suburbs) was established in 1998 to develop and support the uptake of advanced inertial navigation technology in the mining industry. Since then the business scope has grown to include a broader range of specialised guidance technologies and automation system solutions.
You will be working in a small group of specialised engineers focused on the development and support of advanced technology for the guidance and automation of underground equipment. You will need to have the flexibility to work on broad range of tasks within an inter-disciplinary group.
The development of high quality and reliable software/firmware is central to the success of our research and product development activities.
This is a full-time position, but consideration will be given to casual/part-time employment for third/final year students.
Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and qualifications
• IT or Software Engineering degree (third/final year students will also be considered)
• Well-developed and demonstrable ability to think analytically
• Ability to work independently and produce quality high-reliable code
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience with C/C++
• Experience with embedded Linux
Additionally, experience in these areas would be beneficial:
• Javascript
• OpenGL and/or WebGL
• Microcontroller coding
• Linux kernel or driver development
• Interfacing with hardware peripherals/sensors
• Data analysis
• Web service and web application development
• IT/Network management
