We are currently looking for a MOE/SCCM Technician for an initial 14 month contract engagement with a large government department based in the Brisbane CBD. Windows 10 Desktop Technical Consultant, will be responsible for the migration and deployment process of the Windows 10 image and application portfolio.

The project:
The services branch for this department is preparing to upgrade their desktop and laptop computers from Windows 7 to Windows 10 in 2019.  The upgrade will:

• ensure our systems are modern and keep pace with new technology
• enable business efficiency with users having easier access to commonly used software required to do their work
• allow the department to benefit from new applications which have features and components only available in Windows 10
• ensure the department has the appropriate vendor support to ensure business as usual.

Requirements:

• Coordinate and assist with executing installation and build activities for the Windows 10 Managed Operating Environment (MOE) from the existing Windows 7 MOE
• Document design and build aspects of project deliveries
• Evaluate project deliveries for process improvements and suggest improvements
• Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer to peers

This role requires demonstrated knowledge in a number of the following technologies / areas:

• Experience in maintaining a Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager Server Infrastructure (Current Branch preferred)
• Experience of supporting a variety of Windows client and server operating systems
• Previous MOE deployment experience (greater than 5000 desktops) with Windows 7/8/10 and System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) (ConfigMgr Current Branch preferred)
• Experience with Active Directory and Group Policies
• Familiarity with Operating System deployment technologies, including Microsoft Deployment Technologies (MDT), Windows Deployment Services (WDS) & User State Migration Tool (USMT)
• Fundamental networking knowledge - Internet Protocol (IP), Dynamic Naming Service (DNS), Windows Internet Name Service (WINS), IP routing, Network Address Translation (NAT) etc.
• Knowledge of monitoring alerting, logging and status messages
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with Windows Server and Desktop operating systems. Experience with tools such as Wireshark and process monitor preferred
• Strong communication and presentation skills 
• Scripting skills with PowerShell, VBScript, and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI

Requirements:

• Demonstrated skills in ICT delivery with a quality focus
• System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) Support Consultants should be experienced in implementing, administering, tuning and troubleshooting SCCM environments.
• Experience in deploying infrastructure and software change across a large organisation
• General knowledge and understanding of technical and resource capabilities and capacities of application and integration environments
• Knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Architecture and Technology Architecture.

• Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems Microsoft Server Operating Systems
• Possess deep technical expertise in at least one technical specialty and can solve complex technical problems through sound, creative troubleshooting. You will also need to be able to examine possible workarounds and escalations as required.
• Possess Test Management awareness in the context of an ICT Project, or proven ability to acquire this knowledge.
• Proven Experience in managing ICT technical delivery of solutions to meet Project requirements
• Scripting (Visual Basic, WMI, Structure Query Language (SQL) & PowerShell)
• Systems Integration
• Change, Incident and Release Management
