SENIOR APPLICATION DEVELOPER / ARCHITECT - GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT 
 
We are looking for a Senior Application Developer/Architect to start immediately for an initial working period of 6 months with the possibility of extension.

Key Accountabilities

• Understand the business context and requirements.
• Architect, develop, and scale a web-based application.
• Take product ownership, and work in a fast-moving agile environment.
• Perform design, code reviews, performance optimisation and analysis.
• Explore new technologies and practices to improve product quality and development.
• Be an advocate of best practice development and provide guidance the other developers.

Selection Criteria

• 8+ years’ demonstrated experience developing highly scalable web applications.
• In depth experience with MSSQL & Oracle DBMS, Web Programming, Web Services, Spring Boot, Spring Data, TomCat, Java, Hibernate.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse problems, writing clean, scalable, readable and maintainable code.
• Demonstrated experience integrating a variety of data sources
• Experience in Microsoft Azure environment, especially security models- OPEN AM SAML, an advantage
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks i.e. Angular, React
• Experience in CI/CD and Docker an advantage
• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of and experience working in the Department of Education an advantage

Additional requirements:

• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills for collaborating with project stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team is a must.
