This position is suited to a university graduate or similar who has a strong background in a variety of web based technologies and considers themselves first and foremost a programmer. You will be working under the guidance of our senior developers and project managers to assist with both front-end and back-end development.
The successful applicant will work on a wide variety of interesting and challenging assignments. In this role you'll be able to further your passion for developing for the web and expand your skill set as you learn from other members in our team.
Key Requirements
- A strong ability to code websites and web applications in Javascript and PHP
- Ability to build websites without plugins or pre-coded templates
- Good problem solving skills specifically in relation to debugging and troubleshooting
- A working knowledge of PHP frameworks (Laravel, CodeIgniter, Yii, etc)
- A good understanding of SASS/SCSS/CSS
- Excellent knowledge of HTML and W3C complaince
- Strong familiarity with administering systems using a command line (i.e. SSH)
- A working knowledge of Git and working on projects using version control
- The ability to work in a team under the direction of a project manager
- Familiarity working with APIs and web services
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Effective communcation skills for working within a team environment
Desirable additional skills:
- Knowledge of working with NodeJS
- Experience with writing SQL and working with MySQL and MariaDB
- An understanding of Javascript frameworks such as React and Angular
- Experience with templating languages like Twig and Smarty
- A strong understanding of web security
- Experience with building websites on Magento, ExpressionEngine and Craft CMS
- An understanding of WCAG compliance
- The ability to accurately implement a user interface design from Photoshop, InDesign or Sketch
- An insatiable love of coffee
- Able to start immediately
