Detail information about job Fullstack Developer | MS Tech Stack | Learn Sitecore | New platform project. Terms and conditions vacancy

Ahhhh Sitecore! Everyone wants a Sitecore Dev!! Sick of getting hounded on LinkedIn about Sitecore roles? Is it all a bunch of white noise? I get it. So, I’m going to do something different here with this one, but exactly how it should be done. Something we do here at affix is give you as much detail as I can on the particular opportunity, and you can make a call if its for you or not.

Sound good? Here we go…

First things first. Don’t have Sitecore under your belt yet but you’re a great Full-stack .NET engineer? Awesome! You’ve still come to the right place. Cos, in a nutshell, we don’t care! Rather, we’re looking for good devs who have a huge eagerness to learn. If you do have Sitecore, there is a plenty here to sink your teeth into as someone who will come on board with a breadth of knowledge too!

What’s the business and the team like?
Launching in 2014, this business is still sorted kinda a start-up. A startup in the sense that they run fast and lean, get to make technology choices quickly and use the right tool for the job. But the beauty is, they are a profitable business and already have a huge user base. They are currently at the point of scaling up their platforms and building new stuff. So, the people who come on board get to have a say, contribute to the overall plan and help get them to where they need to be.
They are a purely digital business…. I’m talking a high availability website and mobile app, along with media coverage. Like Data? Good! Cos’ there is lots of it. Think live streaming, real-time data feeds etc etc All of the data!

You will join a scrum team, with all the goodness that comes with it. Working with the likes of designers, product peeps and other engineers. At the head of it all is a great Tech Lead, who is humble, passionate and just an all-round good human.

Tell me about the role – The What
As the FS Dev, you are coming on to work on the digital product suite including website, mobile and apps by writing code that binds the front and back ends of their products together with focus on efficiency, quality, scalability, stability and customer satisfaction.

You will participate in the entire development cycle (analysis, spec, design, code, pilot, launch and support). At the crux of it all, working closely with the team to work from technical, functional and UI/UX requirements and mock-ups to build functional, high-performance web applications and APIs. Everyone in this team take start-to-finish technical ownership of features and/or applications from inception to delivery.
Need some bullet points in here to give you more of the what?
  • Ensure all back and front-end technology solutions are properly architected and specified
  • Own the platform (Sitecore)
  • Work with the Delivery team to ensure back and front-end technology best practices
  • Assist with abstract layouts, design patterns (MVC / MVVM), and UI components while building out the interface to a product or application
  • Own web standards, accessibility, and usability standards
What projects are in the pipeline? – The Why
  • Re -platforming of their website (Sitecore) and introducing MVC, along with React on the FE – yup, you will lead this project and get your hands deep into the Sitecore and MVC side of things
  • They are building a new mobile app in React Native
  • They have some pretty sweet partnerships happening this year, so some solid campaigns that’s will spit out a HEAP of new projects

The right person for this? – The Who
  • They hire based on attitude first. So if you’re curious, driven and have your own minimum engineering standards, we’ll all probably get on well.
  • They really like autonomous and self-starting engineers. You’ll be expected to rock up to your stakeholders without asking for permission, plan your own week, ask difficult questions and generally get sh*t done!
  • If you’ve worked in SCRUM squads before – well that'd be snazzy
  • Someone who is an eager beaver to learn – Example? Haven’t touched Sitecore before? Want to learn and get certified then? BOOM! You got it.
The technical chops you will need
  • Proven significant experience working with multiple modern server-side languages including; C#, SQL and ASP .NET
  • Demonstrated experience coding in Javascript, ReactJS or AngularJS, jQuery HTML5/CSS/JSON/AJAX and advanced design patterns would be very nice to have
  • Experience working with Webforms and/or MVC
  • Proven understanding and experience in web application architecture, object-oriented software and design patterns
  • Demonstrated familiarity with mobile development, including responsive design and touch capabilities
