I am working with a reputable global trading company who is seeking a Front Office Application Support Analyst to join their Sydney team for a permanent opportunity.
This role has become available due to exceptional company performance and growth in the APAC region.
This is an exciting role for an IT enthusiast to join a growing company that can offer accelerated career progression as a part of a enjoyable, supportive fast paced environment.
*Note* The successful candidate will be required to travel to London for up to 3 months for training.
This position has been created with the purpose of providing support to the in house derivatives trading system. The system is all run on Linux servers and workstations and C++ is the written scripting language.
You will be joining the team that looks after the in-house development team. Your daily responsibilities will include providing 1st and 2nd level support to the trading team as well as issue investigation, process implementation to improve front office systems and script writing.
Position duties and responsibilities:
- Providing 1st and 2nd level support to the trading staff.
- Task prioritisation and determining what is operational support issues, system monitoring and user support issues.
- Strong reporting skills and the ability to identify and report on system bugs.
- Applying scripts and process to decrease the support required from the dev staff as well as system quality.
- Issue investigation and proactively working to diagnose problems and implement fixes.
- Update and configure trading applications.
Requirements:
- A demonstrated technical background.
- Experience with UNIX, shell scripting, C++ or Python knowledge would be desirable.
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate and liaise with internal stakeholders on a regular basis.
- A demonstrated willingness to learn about financial markets and trading systems.
- A motivated individual who is committed to follow through issues to the resolution stage.
Desirable:
- A university degree or equivalent.
