About the role:
This is a brand new role. My client needs someone who can own security. The successful candidate will be a leader in the security field looking after security, risk and compliance. This position will suit someone who has strong business acumen and can provide valuable commercial insights to the company around the day to day protection of the firm from proposing threats by proactively implementing and maintaining the security frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day to day operations of anti-virus, security incident management and security information.
- Actively perform SIEM event management, vulnerability management and data loss prevention tactics.
- Proactively asses the firms operations and raise/manage any risk. You must be up to date with legislation and industry regulations.
- Perform investigations on potential breaches and in hand provide reports and escalate if required.
- Spread and educate the business on security policies and procedures.
- Do overtime if required to address critical security needs.
- Travel between offices when required, this may be on a monthly or quarterly basis depending on company needs.
Education:
- Tertiary qualifications in IT or equivalent.
- CISSP or CISM certification - or be in the process of completing it.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Australian Government ISM and PSPF Framework.
- Must have experience implementing and improving information security risk as well as ongoing maintenance in line with ISO 27001/27002.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage stakeholders with conflicting views whilst mange expectations and influence users on the best security practices.
- Must have the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to make presentation to the business and in turn customers.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions on operational matters related to security.
- First class organising and planning skills.
- Excellent ability to prioritise tasks.
- Demonstrated understand of best practice and legislation.
- Demonstrated understanding of risk management and negligence.
