A large, complex government organisation is seeking to engage a Business Analyst to assist with the ongoing improvement of a vital organisational system. You will work to identify and map current state of processes, utilise tools to analyse these processes and prepare future and improved designs. You will also participate in determining the necessary changes to arrive at the improved state by gathering business needs and identifying risks and benefits.
This is an initial 12 month contract opportunity, with the possibility of an extension, located in Brisbane CBD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed business requirements specification documentation and assist with the preparation of system requirements specification documentation.
- Develop conceptual models of business processes utilising appropriate modelling techniques.
- Provide a high level of technical and business expertise in establishing and documenting ICT business and system requirements through a range of structured research and analysis techniques.
- Assist with obtaining formal agreement from stakeholders on the scope of requirements to establish a base line on which delivery of a solution can commence.
- Act as a subject matter expert in the development of business architecture framework, tool suite selection and design and methodology development.
- Apply and utilise business modelling methods to ensure results oriented deliverables.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Possess a high standard of business analysis skills with extensive experience in the ICT area.
- Demonstrated experience with investigative work to determine business requirements and specify effective business processes.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and validating multiple requirement types such as technical, Business, systems, configuration and concept.
- Experience modelling business processes using Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN).
- Demonstrated well-developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse business cases, which define potential benefits, options for achieving these benefits through development of new or change processes and associated business risk.
- Demonstrated experience and practical understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and PRINCE2 Project Management methodologies.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience working on technical projects within a large government organisation is highly desirable.
