This is an AVP Project Manager position within the GTO organization. Typical project work involves cross-organizational technology initiatives, risk & regulatory related programs, data center moves, lifecycle initiatives, certifying & implementing new technology, global realty projects, and new technology integration.

Job Objective:

  • Oversee the management, organization and effective delivery of IT Infrastructure projects identified to fall within the GTO portfolio
  • Work as a member of a diverse team of program managers, project managers, project administrators and business analysts overseeing the execution of enterprise-wide programs
  • Contribute to the building of the organization’s program management culture

Job Requirements:

  • Leads the end-to-end planning and execution management of medium to large infrastructure projects
  • Under direct supervision, plans, organizes and controls the activities of cross-functional project teams
  • Alignment to Project Management Office framework and toolsets
  • Development and deliver project business cases
  • Develops and maintains end-to-end project plans
  • Under direction, manage end-to-end project budgets
  • Drive, manage and execute projects on time and on budget
  • Lead and drive the delivery of technical solution for projects
  • Coordinates overall project communications, risks, and issues resolution
  • Coordinates communication with sponsors and management concerning the project status and issues
  • Coordinates project scope control
  • Coordinate project administration, such as project tracking, time tracking, meeting minutes, and project reporting
  • Management of project staff
  • Management of project quality
  • Integration of Production Readiness Framework (PRF) within project lifecycle
  • Embedding of Lean methodologies within the project lifecycle
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships between all IT Infrastructure teams and vendors
  • Work with Compliance, Risk & Infrastructure Assurance teams to ensure local IT regulations and company IT policies are understood and applied
  • Govern the support supplied by our vendors is adequate and up to State Street expected standards.
  • Identify and understand relationships between problems, issues & risks, and provide analysis when escalating

    Skill Requirements:

  • An understanding of standards-based program management practices, with demonstrable skills in project management tools and methodologies
  • Strong project planning skills and efficiency in project management
  • Capability to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control and close on cross-organizational IT infrastructure projects
  • Completes own role independently or with minimal supervision/guidance
  • Ability to manage challenging stakeholders diplomatically
  • Ability to influence global cross functional teams whose priorities may not always align to the assigned project
  • Exceptional communication skills and relationship management capabilities
  • Ability to manage and balance project delivery and risks to existing production systems
  • Knowledge of IT project life cycles
  • Technical knowledge and experience
  • Shares own expertise with others; may co-ordinate activities of others/the team
  • Interprets client needs, assessing the full requirements; identifies solutions to non-standard tasks/queries
  • Interprets internal and/or external business issues and best practice in own discipline; applies to own role
  • Identifies key issues and patterns in moderately complex situations; takes a broad perspective to problems and spots new, less obvious solutions

  • External: Vendors, Consultants, or other Third Parties

Job Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
    • Project Management Certification (e.g. Prince 2/CAPM/PMP/PMI-ACP) is desired
    • ITIL Certification is desired

  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 6 - 8 years of relevant experience in IT program and project management, including at least 5 years of experience in a financial organization
    • Experience in managing large cross-organizational projects
    • Experience in Agile Project Management
    • Experience with APAC IT regulations. A working knowledge of India regulations and tax schemes including DoT, TRAI and STPI would be beneficial
    • Global experience is a plus
