About the Role

We are seeking for a API/NodeJS Developer to join our ICT Client based in Melbourne/ Sydney CBD. This is for 12 months contract position.
 

Duties

  • Design and develop the Apigee proxies, taking care of the security and accessibility of our micro services.
  • The integration patterns and guidelines will require alignment with the security patterns and guidelines provided by the Macquarie online security team.
  • Design and implement tooling CI CD
  • Development of software code in accordance with directives from Macquarie’s Lead Developer and Project Manager (utilising but not limited to), Java and JavaScript;
  • Ensuring Quality standards and a high level of professionalism is maintained at all times whilst ensuring adherence to process and responsibilities as outlined in Macquarie’s Project Management methodology and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Adherence to Macquarie’s software release processes including responsibility for all unit testing and handover of code to systems integration testers
  •  Keep records via JIRA and GitHub, and other documenting systems (Confluence, Sharepoint) as required


 
Skills & Experience

To successfully deliver this project you will need:

  • A self-starter who can take ownership of deliverables, manage conflicting priorities whilst maintaining the highest standards
  • Experienced with an api gateway product.
  • Experience with Axway API development tool
  • Experience with Oracle Service Bus
  • Able to formulate and analyse business requirements to design a fit for purpose solution.
  • Delivers high quality, optimised and well tested code.
  • Understanding of API security best practices (SSL/TLS, OAuth, SAML, JWT, authentication, authorisation, IP security setup and endpoint configuration).
  • Know how in API design best practices, exposure to micro services and SOA.
  • Hands on experience with REST/JSON/SOAP/XML.
  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies.
  • Implemented fully automated CI/CD pipelines, from code testing to production releases.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem solving skills, able to look for the root cause and solve issues quickly.
  • Able to see the big picture and think outside the box.
  • Experience working in an agile/greenfield environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • High quality documentation, able to document APIs using Swagger/Open API.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptable and able to learn quickly.
