6 Month Contract - View to extend well into 2019
Responsible for:
Writing and revising information about company products (e.g.. manuals, help systems, on-line tutorials, installation guides and quick reference guides) using software tools and system components.
Reports to:
Project Manager
Main Activities:
- Editing contributions of Subject Matter Experts to produce unified, consistent support documents
- Analysing program outlines and computer codes and liaising with Subject Matter Experts to produce support manuals
- Ensuring that any contractual requirements for support and documentation are met
- Working on tasks of moderate scope and technical complexity
Key Skills:
- Sound Desktop Publishing skills
- Specialist knowledge of technical area
- Strong written communication skills - ability to write in an easily understandable manner

I am looking for someone that is able to document the technical aspects of my clients software systems so that new team members (architects, developers, QA staff) can use these documents to aid them in understanding their products and the components and design of these products.
- The documentation produced by the technical writer should show new team members what components they need to consider for various tasks/functionality.
- The documentation should also detail key information such as file layouts, objects, major classes, particular specialist design aspects)
- The documentation will involve different levels of documentation as our development team feel is important for each product/system. Eg:
o There will be some high level system documentation for each of our products - eg: component diagrams detailing major components and functionality provided by the components within each product.
o Documentation of key file, data structures, relationships, classes, etc as we feel is necessary
o Design and details of particular business rules, algorithms, tricky areas as we feel needs to be documented
The Technical Writer should be familiar with documenting C++, C#, SQL, binary file formats, classes, objects, etc as necessary.
