Test Analyst – 12 month max term contract

The Company

The Role

Due to recent growth within our Technology team, we are currently recruiting two Test Analysts on a 12 month maximum term contract to back-fill internal resource secondments. Capricorn’s Test Analysts are responsible for preparing and executing automated and manual functional test cases and documenting the testing outputs to verify that the quality of the software developed, is stable, meets the agreed requirements and is fit for purpose.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

• Conducting SIT of the Requirements documentation, Epics, Stories and Defects, providing feedback on the testability of the documents and raising clarifications where applicable;
• Conducting all other forms of testing including Regression, Integration, Performance & Load/Stress, Security and Data Migration according to the testing strategy and plans;
• Providing input to Test Lead/Manager on estimates for test effort and content in the release test plans;
• Raising project risks and issues via the Test Lead/Manager;
• Creating relevant test data;      
• Drafting test conditions/acceptance criteria and ensures traceability is mapped to Requirements/Stories;
• Writing manual or automated test cases with detailed test steps to adequately exercise each sprint’s Requirements/Stories/Defects;
• Raising defects in HP ALM QC12 & JIRA and tracks through to resolution;
• Attending defect meetings to provide clarity on defects raised and provide input to severity ratings;
• Communicating and liaising with project members and business stakeholders as necessary;
• Attending daily Scrum meetings to provide progress updates; and
• Attending Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings.

We’re also looking for skills in the following areas:

• Previous experience in a Test Analyst role conducting (manual, functional testing and preferably automated testing)
• Proven experience of testing and/or domain knowledge of Insurance, CRM,  Finance and Accounting functions
• Proven experience of testing across the end-to-end process of Water Fall and Agile Software Development Life-Cycle
• Proven experience of ISTQB testing standards, HP ALM Quality Centre (QC12) and Jira
• Ideally, ISTQB qualified at Certification Foundation Level
