The Current Opportunity

The Superloop Information Security Engineer is part of our Information Security team. This is an independent IT group who assess and provides assurance that the Superloop group's IT environments are compliant to  documented standards for architecture, configuration and hardware & software lifecycle management.

As an IS Engineer you will have direct responsibilities that include developing and executing security assessments, identifying areas of IT risk across the group and work with internal teams to influence internal security adoption and improve our security alignment.

This is a hands on, technical role, the ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in technical positions, with 2 or more working with Security and have achieved, or  working towards security certification.

As an IS Engineer, you will

• Consult and provide recommendations on security tools to be utilised for internal and external assessments;
• Contribute to the development of standards and frameworks;
• Configure and deploy technical tools required to deliver on security strategy;
• Perform technical security tests, including controls audits, gap assessments, security vulnerability testing, behavioural monitoring and anomaly detection;
• Review systems configurations and architecture against standards and frameworks;
• Contribute to technical build standards for internal security architecture;
• Provide guidance on the implementation of security initiatives, assisting where required;
• Work with internal stakeholders on assurance program to ensure that internal compliance standards are applied, and adhered to;
• Train staff on security practices;
• Ensure we have fundamental security practices built into all business activities;
• Conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required;
• Manage the testing and maintenance our internal Business Continuity Plan (BCP);
• Work with the business to ensure the BCP is complete and meets requirements; and
• Complete any other duties as directed.

About you

The successful applicant will possess

• Experience performing technical penetration and/or vulnerability assessments.
• Experience designing and operating corporate networks, including firewalls, routing, switching and wireless technologies.
• Experience working with intrusion detection/protection software.
• Experience configuring VMware and HyperV Hypervisors.
• Experience administering operating systems, including Windows server, Linux and desktops.
• Demonstrated experience of working with external auditors to ensure compliance with the defined standards.
• Excellent client communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience of IT security principles.
• Demonstrated understanding of implementing and managing the BCP function within a business.
