The requirement is for an experienced (at least 5+ years) Business Analyst (BA) who will assist in the development of system requirements, technical design and engagement of key business and ICT stakeholders.

 The BA will work closely with other staff within the Departments PMO & BRM Branch who are looking to enhance some existing staff-facing applications and systems.

The duties the resource will be required to perform include but not limited to:

·        Work with business and ICT stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements.

·        Provide technical advice and design options to ensure the best use of existing technologies to meet the above business requirements.

·        Evaluate existing technical implementations to understand existing functionality.

·        Develop and document detailed technical designs in the form of user specifications and technical specifications.

·        Work closely with technical staff to ensure that technical implementation is aligned with agreed designs and business requirements.

 Further background for the BA role:

·        The PMO & BRM Branch currently maintains a number of crucial staff-facing tools that include:

·        The Resource and Demand Management (RDM) tool which has been developed on a Microsoft stack (SQL database, SharePoint and Project Professional UI all running on Windows server).

·        The enterprise Project Management tool set which is built off the following Microsoft stack:

 

o   MPS 2013/16

o   Microsoft Project Professional

o   Microsoft SharePoint

o   Microsoft SQL Server

o   Microsoft Project Web App (PWA)

 

·        With the future upgrade to the 2016 versions of the Microsoft stack, there is the opportunity to enhance these existing tools to ensure that they meet future business requirements.

·        A skilled and experienced BA is required to work across these initiatives to support technical and non-technical staff.

·        Ideally the BA will have 5+ years working within large and complex ICT environments preferably with Federal government organisations.
