We are currently seeking highly experienced Microsoft Technical Expert for our client to work on a major project. It is a great long-term contract until end of June 2020!

Australian Citizenship mandatory (Baseline Security Clearance preferred)

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Work with business and ICT stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements.
  • Provide technical advice around possible design options.
  • Evaluate existing technical implementations to understand existing functionality.
  • Develop and document detailed technical designs in the form of user specifications and technical specifications.
  • Configure a Power BI implementation to demonstrate the ability for the tool to:
  • Integrate with multiple databases and systems using web services.
  • Produce various types of data visualisation e.g. dashboards, static reports, etc.
  • Provide predictive analysis and data mining of integrated data sets
  • Work collaboratively with existing technical and nontechnical staff, internal and external to the branch, to ensure successful configuration as described above.
  • Understanding of Microsoft enterprise products such as Office, Project Server, Windows Server, SQL server, Project Professional, Exchange, etc.
  • Currently the Department is interested in trialling Power BI to leverage its reporting and Business Intelligence capabilities.
  • Part of the trial will be to investigate how Power BI can integrate with existing systems, complements other reporting tools currently in use within the Department and can be implemented to meet the usual architectural, ICT security and infrastructure requirements
  • There may be some configuration and coding required to meet the Power BI trial requirements.
  • The expert will be required to gather business and technical requirements and configure Power BI to produce required reports.
  • The technical expert will have at least 5 years’ experience working with Microsoft platforms at the enterprise level.
Mandatory Criteria: Responses are required
  • Demonstrated high level experience as a Microsoft expert in large and complex, enterprise environments (preferably with Federal Government organisations).
  • Previous experience developing and implementing new applications within a large organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to write technical specifications and design documents.
  • Previous experience engaging various business and ICT stakeholders through various channels such as workshops and meetings etc.
  • Previous experience (5+ years) with Microsoft platforms at the enterprise level.
  • Previous experience in system integration using standards based APIs.
  • Previous experience configuring Microsoft Power BI.
