We are searching for an ambitious Level 2/3 Helpdesk Support Technician who is passionate about IT, loves providing great customer service, and is now searching for new challenges. 

 

Our client is a Managed Service Provider (MSP) who have recently based themselves on the south side of Brisbane in a newly fitted-out office that will make you smile! They are continuously picking up new customers and are growing year on year, hence the need now for another resource!

You will be involved with varied and interesting tasks, everything from the easy fix through to the complex design. The position provides an opportunity to enhance your experience in multiple aspects of IT support engineering.

 

The role requires you to perform Network Administration and Support activities remotely and on customer sites. There will be opportunities to work on Projects as well.

 

You need to show demonstrated skills, experience and understanding of Technical Networking concepts and Microsoft Operating/Server Systems [Windows systems, Desktops and Servers, Active Directory (AD) and Exchange], as well as experience supporting network infrastructure, including switches, routers and firewalls.

 

The role also includes but not limited to:

  • Providing level 2/3 support for a range of customers (Proactive and Reactive Support)
  • Implementation & support of small/medium business systems and networks.
  • Problem-solving
  • Documentation (technical and procedural)
  • Liaise with customers and vendors
  • Monitor desktop, laptop, server and network infrastructure/analysis of logs/identification of potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot desktop, laptop, server and network issues.
  • Travel to supported sites to provide on-site IT support services
  • Participate in IT projects as required

 

 

You will have proven, recent experience in:

  • +3 commercial years’ experience within IT Desktop/Helpdesk support
  • +2 commercial years’ experience as a Level 2/3 IT Helpdesk support
  • Experience in supporting network infrastructure, including switches, routers and firewalls
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts such as firewalls, routing, file permissions, file and printer sharing.
  • Experience in supporting and maintaining Windows Servers / Desktops, SBS, Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience supporting virtualised environments
  • Remote Management tools
  • Sound ability to quickly identify and diagnose errors and resolve these logically in a short time frame (Strong problem solving and analytical skill)
  • Ability to resolve complex hardware and software faults
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Great telephone manner.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Current drivers licence / Ability to travel to Client sites

 

 

The following additional skills will be highly regarded

  • Providing External Customer Support and/or previous work experience within a Managed Service Provider environment
  • Cisco experience preferred
  • Server backup administration experience – Veeam & Shadow Protect product knowledge preferred
