As an equal opportunity employer that promotes a diverse and safe workplace environment, one of the country's leading and preferred defence partners, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is looking for a Hardware and Labs Technical Officer to support the Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) Ground Support Segments (GSS).

As a Ground Support Segments (GSS) Hardware and Labs Technical Officer an opportunity exists to develop skills in design, drafting and test within a complex integrated architecture. You will complete routine maintenance, troubleshoot and solve issues within the GSS that includes a variety of laboratories, simulators and other support elements of the AEW&C Wedgetail In Service Support Project, located at RAAF Base Williamtown, NSW. 

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Identifying and rectifying system faults in the Virtual Wedgetail (VW), Operational Mission Simulator (OMS), Mission Support Segments (MSS) and System Verification and Validation (SV&V) Laboratory.
  • Installation of hardware infrastructure and associated connectivity, including various data systems and components.
  • Development of engineering documentation & configuration management of hardware systems.

To be successful you will have: 

  • Cert IV trade qualification or equivalent in electronics or the ability to obtain a Cert IV by Recognition of Prior Learning assessment.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an aviation or ground based electronics maintenance environment and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, modern electronics systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and demonstrate an understanding of engineering change processes.
